We have approx. 4500 Sq miles of hunting area and with legendary numbers of Hungarian Partridge, and lots of sharptail grouse in prime habitat - the sand hills, coulees, rolling hills grass pasture, creek beds & crop fields are yours to experience in the wonderful upland bird hunting paradise. I spend a great deal of time all year long securing permission in my upland hunting areas. A great deal of it granted exclusively to me as I am a known, responsible and respectful member of the community.

SPECIALIZE in Hungarian Partridge upland bird hunting over sporting dogs that work the endless cover in this unique part of Saskatchewan, showcasing the beautiful landscape as a backdrop for world class Saskatchewan upland bird hunting. The hunting area has such strong covey numbers that the same birds are seldom if ever hunted more than once throughout the season. My Labradors can also join the hunt for flushing hunts, however I encourage you to bring your dogs along to handle the work. It is your dog's hunting trip as much as it is yours!

A typical SW Saskatchewan Upland hunt begins - mid to late morning for the am waterfowl hunters – earlier for the clients that did not take in the morning waterfowl hunting. Hungarian Partridge are the target bird and the numbers are unforgetable – a daily limit of 8 birds is the highest in North America. You can walk as much or as little as you would like. I go at your pace. Your dogs will work the birds– or my Labradors can work the cover close for an exciting flushing dog upland hunting experience. Huns are a fabulous eating bird for a nice dinner reflecting back on your SW Saskatchewan upland hunt., and are small and compact making for a very good transport home.

The sharptail grouse is the other upland bird in my area offering hunting in traditional desert like grasslands with all sorts of classic sharptail habitat – they also are found on the border of these areas and the crop fields that surround them – this is my preferred place to hunt them – the grasslands have cactus in areas that require dogs to have boots on for protection – however the crop fields are clear and is a fine place to pursue sharptails . Sharpies can appear throughout the hungarian partridge upland hunting areas as well.

Along the way on your SW Saskatchewan upland hunt you could see the big mature whitetail bucks that Saskatchewan is famous for. Antelope herds are widespread and moose are scattered throughout our hunting area and even small herds of prairie elk are encountered. Tell me anytime to stop and take pictures please!
